Entries open for Gozzy Rock, with $10K+ in prizes up for grabs

GOZZY ROCK is the City of Gosnells’ annual contemporary music competition, which promotes original music from emerging bands all over WA. Entries are open to WA bands / performers on any style or genre. Gozzy Rock was established in 1986 to promote original music and give unsigned bands and artists a chance to break into the music industry. The prize is $10k and growing, made up of cash, recording studio time and promo related packages.

Calling All Bands

  • Entries close 28 July
  • Entries are open to Western Australian bands of any style.
  • Bands can enter online
  • At least one band member must be aged 25 or under
  • All Gozzy Rock events take place at The Don Russell  Performing Arts Centre
  • Heats are on August Sat 19th & Sun 20th
  • Gozzy Rock Final is on August 27th

Terms and conditions

  • All your music must be original
  • Must be unsigned
  • Haven’t been a major winner (first or second place) from a previous year
  • Must be available to perform at all performance dates as detailed above.
  • Must be willing and available to assist in promotion of Gozzy Rock through social media, media coverage, interviews and advertising.

Heats/final

  • All Gozzy Rock events take place at The Don Russell  Performing Arts Centre – Murdoch Drive Thornlie ( Forest Lakes Shopping Centre)
  • Heats are on August Sat 19th & Sun 20th
  • Gozzy Rock Final is on August 27th]
  • Gozzy Rock is a smoke, alcohol and drug free event.
  • 12 bands perform in the Heat for 6 places in the Final.
