Circo festival skipping a year, but back in 2016

5 Jun

With Soundwave and Big Day Out now no longer a thing in WA, Circo Festival has become the latest victim of festival woes, announcing it’s not happening this year due to a range of factors. Never fear though, the promoters (also behind Pilerats, Metric and other leading WA music enterprises) have announced they’ll be returning in 2016 with an event they “have in our dreams and that you deserve.”

They announced the news on Facebook with the following statement:

“Circo is a very special beast to all that work on it, which means there’s some good and bad news to follow. We have a vision of delivering a truly world beating audio & visual festival experience and for the better part of 6 months this has been our focus every waking moment.
As the final parts of the lineup and stage setups were piecing together we were left looking at something that had shifted too far from what we wanted Circo to be and not at a standard we could happily label as ‘the best’. After witnessing the collapse of so many festivals, and not wanting to take this event to an early grave, we made the painfully difficult decision to postpone the 2015 event, and with wheels already in motion to make 2016 the event we have in our dreams and that you deserve.
The good news; there will be a series of events showcasing some of the best musical talent and visual stage design going around at the moment. One of those event’s went live last night”

Here’s looking forward to 2016!
