About Aysha
Currently, Aysha is the founding director of Artisticsoul a music promotions and consultancy company providing services to urban artists from diverse backgrounds.
Aysha is an established recording artist with 20 years experience in production, events promotion, and music business management.
Her knowledge of the industry has led her to run Hip Hop workshops in remote indigenous communities for the Education Department and be a guest speaker for DIY music business workshops. Aysha is best known for her work as the lead vocalist of Perth’s premier neo-soul act, The Amani Consort.
Aysha has performed extensively as a vocalist both locally and internationally. She has supported artist such as: Eryka Badu (USA), PDigss (NZ) Lee fields (USA), Sneaky Sound System (UK), Morcheeba (UK), Gary Clark Jr (US), Micheal Franti (US) to name a few. Her live experience includes performing at festivals including the Big Bay Out, Southbound, West Coast Blues and Roots as well as many other local boutique festivals.
Aysha has run Hip Hop workshops in remote indigenous communities for the Western Australian Education Department and has been a guest speaker for music business workshops for local councils and organizations like Gozzy Rock.
What Aysha brings to the WAM Board
Aysha Amani is a passionate advocate for gender equality and cultural diversity in the WA music industry. Aysha brings a wide-ranging skill set including a cert 4 in technical production cert 3 in copyright and performance as well as music business management skills. In addition Aysha has worked as an events promoter across some of Perth’s most iconic venues which has refined her skills in booking, marketing and social media management. Aysha has connections within many different sectors of the local industry across several genres including: Funk Rock, Jazz, Reggae, D’n’B, EDM and Hip Hop.
As a recording artists she has collaborated with producers both locally and internationally, and has gained a wealth of knowledge in DIY management having self-released several projects as the founder and CEO of Amani Entertainment, a music media company that has employed musicians, photographers, graphic designers, videographers, publicists and arts professionals from across the sector.
