With its second anniversary being celebrated next week, aroundthesound.com.au has announced it will publish a new, free weekly gig guide with its first issue hitting the streets on Thursday, December 20.

“It’s a good, old-fashioned one-stop-shop,” says Managing Editor, Bob Gordon. “If you know what you’re looking for online you’re fine; it’s just harder these days if you’re looking to be surprised. We hope to be full of surprises.”

Powered by the Gigsauce.com.au event-listing site Around The Sound will publish 10,000 copies printed on recycled paper every Thursday available from 250 outlets. It presents as an A4 format that folds out to an A2-sized gig guide. Readers can also scan the QR codes on ATS articles to view expanded content online or book tickets from the ads on the spot.

“Or you can just sit there and read it,” says Bob, “and enjoy the ink.”

Around The Sound’s #1 December 20 edition is something of a ‘Christmas Stocking’. The new guide will then be published weekly from Thursday, January 11.
