FRIDAY 4 NOVEMBER VARIOUS VENUES

A series of focused live music showcases presented in conjunction with, and carefully curated by, WA’s best promoters, organisations and venues, including Moshtix, Perth Theatre Trust, RTRFM, Emergence Creative, Cool Perth Nights, Move, Spooky Action, Stormrider Touring, Sweet Mate Music, Matchless Music, Blue Grey Pink and Unzipped Records. Running from 5pm to late, the Friday Showcases will cover every taste, and are open to all music lovers! The menu is larger than ever this year, with 13 events, spanning Northbridge to Freo to Basso and back again.

As usual, entry to the all events are FREE with a WAMCon pass!

 ► QUAYNOTE BOAT PARTY @ THE SWAN RIVER

They say there’s Something In The Water in WA, so where better to celebrate WA music than on it! The boat’s already almost full, but any WAMCon tickets bought before 31 October go into a ballot for the remaining boarding passes. Secure your place on the high seas, where high times and networking highNotes are guaranteed. With food and beverages provided, Death Disco’s Anton Maz also provides the soundtrack.

Presented by Perth Theatre Trust & RTRFM
WA’s fave community radio station launches their 2016 Courtyard Club series with a bang at WAMFest, feat. an outside broadcast of Drivetime presented by local music program Homegrown, interviews with WAMi winners plus six hours of live music from Rag n’ Bone, Catlips (DJ), Puck, Our Man in Berlin, Lana & Phocal.

Presented by EMERGENCE CREATIVE FESTIVAL & CREATIVE CORNER
The official launch of the Emergence Creative Festival; bringing you a sumptuous selection of sounds, visuals and tastes of the South West in an exciting new creative space in West Perth. Featuring live performances by Tom Day, Formidable Vegetable Sound System, Michael Triscari, Blue Child Collective & Kachina DJs

A special WA edition of their hugely popular classic album series! Tribute acts, these are not. Be prepared to witness all-star line-ups featuring members of your fave original bands performing classic albums: The Sleepy Jackson‘s Lovers & Jebediah‘s Slightly Odway, performed of course by some of WA’s best musos.

Presented by STORMRIDER TOURING
Seven of the city’s finest established and emerging metal acts will be on display at Perth’s newest live music venue. The heaviest showcase of them all, with a double stage extravaganza featuring performances by Claim The Throne, Silent Knight, Earth Rot, Sanzu, Suffer In Rot, Tempest Rising and Remission!

Perth’s freestyle rap lords Colab go head to head with Sydney’s freestyle rap and live drawing supergroup Sketch The Rhyme, for a battle royal of rhymes, art and comedy. Perth VS Sydney; who will win the ultimate rap off? Featuring Sketch The Rhyme vs Colab in full band mode, with special guest vocals from Natalie Mae and support from The Stoops & Beckon.

Indie-folk superstar Riley Pearce has handpicked three of WA’s finest acts to warm-up the ocean side crowd at the Indi Bar for a performance by Bob Log III, who’ll be in town all the way from the US of A. Get down early to catch Moana, Mossy Fog and Ben Catley!

One of MOVE’s most popular nights kicks it up a gear for WAMFest to present the cream of the crop of WA’s live electronic acts and DJs. Open-minded lovers of music and dance can expect a quality supply of party vibes, spiritual grooves and heartfelt hands-up sounds, with live performances by  Mei Saraswati, Solar Barge Big Band, Business Partner, Basic Mind and more.

Get a dose of the finest hardcore with a special WAMFest edition of Wasted Youth at Babushka in Leederville. Local heavyweights Cursed Earth, El Capitan, Unravel, Push Me Under & Facile will have you throwin’ old school shapes and pickin’ up change all night with a mess of breakneck riffs and bone-crushing breakdowns.

Three of the city’s best kept indie rock secrets join forces to launch their new singles directly into the heart of WAMFest upstairs at Jimmy’s Den. Expect to feel all the feels with sophisticated emo, post-hardcore and shoegaze flavoured sounds in one of Northbridge’s best live rooms, with Spilt Cities, Sail On! Sail On! and Odlaw launching, plus support from Wooly Mammoth..

A selection of WA’s most talented alt country artists take over the newly renovated Bassendean Hotel, with performances from The Jaycos, Ralway Bell, The Jackson Roses, The Fortunados & Pete Byfield guaranteed to be the hoe-down highlight of the Festival! The Basso Fridays series has been a hugely popular addition to the local music calendar over the last twelve months, breathing life into the beautiful old pub, proving original music is alive and well in the Eastern suburbs.

► PERTH PUNK IS DEAD @ THE BOSTON

Straight from the garage to the sticky carpets of The Boston comes the must-see showcase of WAMFest for punk fans. Yokohomos, Shit Narnia, The Sperts, King Of The Travellers, Last Quokka & Dennis Cometti will be putting it all on the line to show you exactly why Perth punk is FAR from dead, with a night bound to be filled with blood, sweat and zippers.

Get set to raise the roof of The Railway Hotel – one of Freo’s true old-school pub venues that’s been standing for almost a century, with a hard rockin’ lineup fit for the old girl’s legendary status in the WA original music community. Featuring scorching performances from September Sun, St James Sirens, Foxton Kings, Fight The Morning & Dead End Brawler, it’s gonna rattle like never before!
