Entries now open for The Big Splash Band Comp 2016!

23 Mar

WAM is proud to support The Big Splash Band Comp 2016, now open for entries. In it’s fourth year, and alike to those that have led to this point, $10,000 is up for grabs for the winning band – courtesy of Perth’s number one rock and roll philanthropist, Maria Florides.

Over the past few years, The Big Splash Band Comp has taken the WA music industry by storm, with over 540 bands riding the wave and three bands (Jacob Diamond, Hideous Sun Demon and Scalphunter) surfing all the way to the shore and picking up $10,000 cash each.

The requirements for entrants remain the same – entrants are to be West Australian residents, who compose and perform original music, and are unsigned. The Big Splash is about celebrating and bolstering those primary contributors to the WA music scene – the musicians. Tame Impala and Pond ranking in Grammy, ARIA nominations and that Brit Award are no accident – W.A music rules ALL.

2015 saw more industry support than in the previous year, with greater attendance. With this momentum, 2016 is set to be even bigger still, and your band, or someone you know that composes and performs their own music, is invited to be a part of this unique, authentic and influential band competition.

Entries are open now until May 20. Enter here!
